Dominating the northern skyline of Rogers Pass, the West Ridge of Mount Tupper is one of the great Canadian classics.  Excellent climbing on solid quartzite rock puts you in one of the most spectacular positions in the Pass and provides a worthwhile challenge on one of Canada’s iconic alpine routes.

Is This For You?

Although not as high as Mount Sir Donald, Mount Tupper still requires a steep car to summit vertical gain of 1500m (5000ft) with technical rock climbing sections up to 5.6.  A high level of fitness is necessary as well as some scrambling experience in order to comfortably navigate the exposed rock ridge.

Maximum guest to guide ratio is 2:1

Meet at the Hermit Parking Lot where we begin hiking at about 11:30am.  A steep 3-5 hour hike will get us to the Hermit Meadows campsite.  Our camping gear and food will be brought up by porters and we will set up camp and prepare for summit day.  An early start on the second day will set us up for our summit attempt, leaving enough time to hike back down to the highway in the late afternoon/evening.
